What does a DevOps Engineer do at Wellmo?

As a DevOps Engineer at Wellmo, you’ll have the autonomy and primary responsibility for the DevOps area and developing our DevOps culture and infrastructure . You’ll drive our production reliability and performance, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and best practices to optimize our processes.

The Wellmo platform enables customers to have better digital health services in a fast and cost-effective way. It’s a no-code/low-code solution that helps our customers tie together digital services from their provider partners into a consistent, holistic, and branded experience for their end-users.

Your main goals and responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and enhancing production infrastructure reliability and performance.
  • Developing and automating deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Monitoring system performance and security, responding to incidents and implementing preventive measures.
  • Collaborating with developers to integrate software with backend systems and optimize production workflows.
  • Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using Kubernetes and Docker for continuous integration and delivery.
  • Conducting root cause analysis for production issues and implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Documenting and maintaining system configurations and procedures to ensure scalability and stability.

Here’s the interesting technical details about our environment:

  • Our production environment runs smoothly overall, with several deployments per month.
  • Information security is vital as we handle sensitive data.

Your new team:

You’ll be joining a team led by Jari Hirvonen , our Head of Operations, and working alongside six dedicated developers who manage customer-specific services, platform hosting, and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with customer specialists and developers to ensure successful service delivery and system maintenance. 

We work in a hybrid model but like to meet at our office in Otaniemi, Espoo two days a week – we hope to see you there every once in a while! 

Critical knowhow that you’ll need to succeed in this role:

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Kubernetes and Docker)
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Relevant experience in DevOps, preferably with a minimum of 5 years.
  • Hands-on experience with deployment automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting in cloud environments.
  • Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, Packer, or similar.
  • EU citizenship is required for the DevOps Engineer role due to handling sensitive health data of our customers.
