Job Description - People Operations Manager

We 💛 small business

We founded Holvi in 2011, in Helsinki. As self-employed people wading through oceans of paperwork, we noticed something funny going on – traditional banks were giving us the cold shoulder. Right now, we’re looking for a People Operations Manager to join our team in Helsinki for a 12 months’ cover. If you want to help us make self-employment a little easier, Holvi is for you.

It’s all about people

As a People operations manager in Holvi, you’re a part of our international People team with members in Berlin and Helsinki. Together we are in charge of ensuring that all Holvi teams can work successfully and thrive at work. We focus on people and our goal is to help our employees succeed in their work and support Holvi's growth from a people perspective. You will focus mostly on supporting the Holvians based in Helsinki and in our remote locations with all things employee lifecycle related. 

A typical week could see you:

  • Managing payroll together with our partners, including the related paperwork and benefits administration
  • Managing employment agreements, personnel records and our employee stock options administration 
  • Working together with our managers on different HR matters, not least recruitment 
  • Supporting Holvians in employment matters throughout their time at Holvi
  • Initiating and leading various culture projects, for example organising our amazing team weeks 
  • Looking after our office in Helsinki making it a great environment to work in and a fun place to be
  • Occasionally adding to our set of people related policies and guidelines to ensure we have the needed documentation to support our people’s daily work

Requirements

This role is for you if you:

  • Already have gathered experience (3+ years) in working with people operations, focusing on employee lifecycle and related day-to-day processes? 
  • Have experience working with Finnish payroll and are familiar with the Finnish collective agreements (we’re working under Collective Agreement of the IT services sector, TiPal) 
  • Are well structured, have an eye for detail and know how to plan and prioritise your own work 
  • Are open, empathic and have a catching enthusiasm
  • Enjoy working with others, inside and outside of your own team
  • Have ambition to grow and develop how we do things 
  • Are fluent in English and Finnish, both spoken and written. Our company language is English.

It’s a plus if you:

  • Have experience working with people operations in international companies (managing payroll, contracts etc in other markets than Finland)
  • Have experience in managing work environments and offices
