As a Account Manager , you will cover a specialized surgical sales role where the primary objective is to achieve sales targets for a specific account(s), being responsible for establishing and implementing a sales/business plan for a designated client base or implementation of a specific sales program to effectively support the patient journey and properly position Alcon and its brands.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Being responsible for driving sales, promotion and development in the designated accounts to reach commercial goals.
  • Developing customer development strategy, dedicated action plans for assigned accounts, aligning on account objectives and execution.
  • Establishing and developing long-term relationships with key customers.
  • Acquiring a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements.
  • Expanding the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their needs and objectives.
  • Leading the preparation of strategies and individual tactical plans and to give strategic input in terms of analysis, future potential and key programs required for the accounts.
  • Preparing and negotiating contracts, guiding initiatives that the company launches to target accounts.
  • Analyzing market situation including competitive intelligence activities on key accounts and key competitors.
  • Organizing customer events and other programs independently or with marketing/medical department, in line with agreed business tactical plans.
  • Contributing to the mapping of stakeholders, including segmentation and profiling and provide accurate and timely data for the Alcon CRM system.
  • Being responsible for establishing and implementing a sales/business plan for a designated client base.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Fluency in Finnish and English (verbal and written)
  • Sales experience in medical devices and/or Pharma environment and/or in Ophthalmic Surgery clinic(s)
  • Consultative selling experience in B2B industries (ideally, high-end Med Dev)
  • Experience in a customer facing role interacting with medical & non-medical staff
  • Cross-functional and matrix working experience
  • Strong business acumen and selling skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both technically and interpersonally
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills
  • Ophthalmology experience as a plus
  • General understanding of surgical techniques and anatomy, physiology, pathology, and optics as a nice to have
