Chief Information Architect

We are looking for a Chief Information Architect (CIA) in the Enterprise Architecture and Portfolio Management team of YIT's Business Technology function.

The Chief Information Architect (CIA) is a senior IT SME responsible for defining the information architecture and guiding the implementation of data architecture of YIT. The CIA works closely with business leaders and stakeholders, and other IT leaders, such as the Chief Enterprise Architect (CEA), Chief Information Officer (CIO), Chief Technology Architect (CTA), Head of Data and Insight, to ensure that the organization's information needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.

The key responsibilities include:

1. Defining and guiding the implementation a YIT level information architecture that aligns with YIT’s business goals, objectives and data strategy
2. Establishing and maintaining the information architecture framework, including the development of data models, data flows, and data standards and principles.
3. Ensuring that key information concepts and entities used in business are understood and defined across segments and processes
4. Ensuring that the business information entities correspond to business process inputs and outputs
5. Leading the work to design information management practices suitable for the whole YIT with data architects
6. Ensuring the organization’s information management practices are compliant with relevant data privacy and protection regulations, such as GDPR, Data and AI Act.
7. Leading data governance and data management initiatives, including data ownership, data quality, data lineage, and data access controls.
8. Evaluating new data technologies and tools and recommending their adoption to improve YIT’s information management practices.
9. Establishing and maintaining relationships with external partners, such as vendors and industry experts, to stay aware of emerging trends in information architecture and management

From the candidate we are looking for:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences
• Experience and solid understanding on enterprise and cloud technologies
• Proven track record in people management and communication skills
• Proven track record in architecture transformation program deliveries
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in information and data modeling
• Experience ofMS Azure and Snowflake data functions and capabilities
• TOGAF certification is preferred
• Experience from Agile development methods
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture best practices and reference models and ability to adapt those to YIT
• Language skills: Fluent written and spoken English, also preferably Finnish
