What You’ll Do at Elekta

As a DevOps Engineer, you will collaborate with software engineering teams to design, deploy, and operate cloud and web-based medical software applications. This includes automating and optimizing our operations and processes; building and maintaining tools for deployment, monitoring operations; and troubleshooting and resolving issues in our development, test, and production environments. The role requires you to have hands-on technical experience and a “can-do” approach towards environment automation/management and continuous improvement. 

The right stuff

Design, develop, and manage the continuous integration, delivery, and testing of Elekta’s next-generation software applications.

Utilize modern development, deployment, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker and Kubernetes) to achieve robust automation and deployment processes and procedures.

Achieve automated CI/CD pipelines and scalable deployments utilizing Microsoft Azure.

Support developers debugging and troubleshooting local and cloud Kubernetes clusters.

Design, implement, and manage appropriate logging and reporting infrastructure to monitor production status (both for internal and public consumption).

Configure, optimize, and manage production resources and services (e.g., MySQL, Redis, and NGINX).

Perform root cause analysis of errors that occur in production and staging environments.

Identify and drive opportunities for improvement related to processes, tools, and overall product quality

What we believe you have

4 years of related professional experience AND a bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar technical field; OR 2 years of related professional experience AND a master’s degree in computer science or similar technical field.

Experience working with and deploying to Microsoft Azure or other cloud technologies. Relevant professional certifications are desirable.

Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and their associated deployment artifacts, APIs, and CLI tooling.

Experience working with both Linux and Windows operating systems as well as writing and maintaining automation scripts using Linux Shell/Bash and/or Windows PowerShell.

Experience working with developing automation solutions using common automation scripting tools.

Experience working with technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes

Experience using the Git source control system, with an emphasis on command line tools.

Experience producing, deploying, maintaining, and consuming RESTful APIs.

Networking experience with bare metal, containers, and Kubernetes clusters.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, and the ability to interact with highly technical teams
