Engineering Support Manager

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer at ABB Oy, Marine and Ports in Vuosaari, Helsinki. In this position, you will be a part of Engineering Support Team and responsible for technical support for internal customers. Azipod propulsion is a gearless steerable propulsion system where the electric drive motor is in a submerged pod outside the ship hull. Azipod units can rotate 360 degrees to increase maneuverability and operating efficiency. We offer the possibility to work with and develop state-of-the-art technology and lead the way for successful business in a truly global environment. •Global technical support for our internal customers. •Ensuring on-time operative technical support. •Resolving electrical application issues for new building projects and operating ships. •Provide technical assistance to the team members and help to expedite resolution of customer issues. •Provide feedback to internal stakeholders. •Occasional traveling (about 10-20 days per year) is required, to meet customers and suppliers

Qualifications for the role

• A few years of work experience in Marine business.
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering.
• Self-driven and strong forward going attitude.
• Challenges motivate you and you are solution focused.
• Excellent communication skills, good spoken and written English skills are mandatory.
• Experience in ePlan or other electrical engineering tool.
• An organized way of working and willingness to take responsibility, ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ideal candidate for this position would have some experience from electrical engineering, field activities and marine business
