Head of Accounting

We are now looking for our next Head of Accounting, who is ready to take ownership of Roschier's cross-border accounting and financial controlling team.

Working as Head of Accounting at Roschier

As our Head of Accounting, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a cross-border accounting team of 10+ accounting specialists located in both Finland and Sweden. You will be overseeing all transactional finance processes and the preparation of financial statements according to Finnish and Swedish accounting standards (FAS), and ensuring their accuracy and compliance with rules and regulations. You will play an important role in developing the team, ways of working and tools to facilitate the evolution of the finance function.

The accounting and financial controlling team is responsible for a comprehensive range of financial activities, including accounts payable, travel and expense management, general accounting, payroll, and payments. As Head of Accounting, you will be responsible for leading the team and for managing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes. You will handle annual routines related to the partner-organization, such as share issues and redemptions, and coordinate monthly and annual routines related to VAT and income tax.

As Roschier is continuously growing and developing, you will focus on the professional development and engagement of the team members, while leading the continuous change towards an optimized and modern accounting and financial controlling function. You will be responsible for ensuring that our financial processes match even better with the current and future business needs, and that they are conducted in line with the legislation.

In this position, you will work in close collaboration with our Head of Finance Development, business controlling team, and team leaders within the wider business operations function, while reporting to our Finance Director. You will be located at our office in central Helsinki and work together with colleagues in both Sweden and Finland, gaining insight into an international and dynamic professional services organisation.

We are looking for you who have

• 5+ years of experience from, and strong skills within, accounting and financial controlling
• relevant education (e.g. B.Sc./M.Sc. in Accounting and/or Finance)
• experience from consolidation of financial statements, monthly, quarterly and annual closings and tax and VAT related operations
• an excellent team spirit and an eagerness to engage, support and motivate the team members
• a systematic approach and positive can-do attitude
• an ability to work under pressure and with tight schedules (monthly, quarterly and annual routines)
• fluent written and oral communicational skills in Finnish and English, Swedish is considered as an advantage
