About this opportunity

 

Welcome to the Nordic, Finnish and Swedish Equity team. We manage our Nordic, Finnish and Swedish active equity funds with the aspiration to create an attractive three year rolling performance after fees. As a Portfolio Manager, you would be managing our Finnish Stars equity fund and contributing to the teams shared research platform, which involves supporting other Portfolio Managers in the team with company specific research and sharing new investment ideas.

 

What you’ll be doing:

• As an Portfolio Manager, you would have shared responsibility for the Finnish Stars equity fund and be responsible for the investment decisions of the fund.
• You would perform in-depth company research, search for new investment ideas, manage portfolio construction and risk.
• This requires both desktop work e.g. financial modelling and meeting with executive management teams and experts operating in various sectors across the globe.
• You will produce both oral and written research to communicate your views to the team and other internal and external stakeholders.
• You would also be marketing the fund and produce marketing material for both internal and external channels.

You’ll join one of the leading Nordic buy-side research teams filled with motivated people working closely as a team, aiming to deliver outperformance to our clients. The role is based in Helsinki, although the team of 12 investment professionals is located in both Stockholm and Helsinki.

• Have a deep interest for Finnish and Nordic equities with stock picking capabilities.
• Are motivated to learn new business models and industries frequently.
• Have a high interest in fundamental equity research and understanding of business model evaluation, with a framework for capturing the true value creation within a company.
• Great social and communication skills in English, with an enthusiasm for presenting your research, conclusion and knowledge to others.
• Enjoy working in a team as our investment process is highly iterative between team members. We believe that the success of the team creates a multiple on peoples individual performance.

Your experience and background:  

• Have several years of previous work experience from analysing Finnish or Nordic equities.
• A proven history for successful stock picking, either from the buy or sell side.
• In-depth experience from analysing companies and conducting financial modelling e.g. DCF models and other valuation techniques.
• A higher education degree, for example inFinance.
