Job Description - PRA Leader NE Hub

Location: The role can be based in either: Sweden, Norway, Finland or Denmark.

Working pattern: 3 days a week in the office, company travel across the Nordics and UK.

Reporting in to: Associate Vice President – PRA NE Hub

This role is accountable for leading the PRA team responsible for access and reimbursement across the in the NE Hub for Oncology, Autoimmune and Neurology.

The candidate must manage a team of individuals across the hub within the PRA department. As a result, the role requires strong people management/coaching skills to enable their team to develop and deliver in their roles.

You must be able to consider the knowledge of the external environment and the therapeutic area to devise the optimal payer strategy. The role also entails developing the strategic initiatives, payer materials, AAPs and supporting the local PRA and HTA/HO teams in their reimbursement dossier submission.

The role is also accountable for successful implementation of the payer strategy, measuring the impact of the payer programs and national access targets. The role is key in ensuring the overall market access strategy (nationally and locally) for all of the brands and requires being able to work successfully within the PRA department, cross-functionally with marketing, medical, sales and with the IBU team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and anticipate future payer customer needs, constraints and requirements impacting the therapeutic area.
  • Understand the local patient and treatment pathways for the therapeutic area and the brand.
  • Bring the outside in by providing clear and concise intelligence into the business unit that may be relevant to the brand/therapeutic area.
  • Follow closely on NHS, NICE development and other reimbursement bodies across the Nordic countries.

Strategic payer planning

  • Develop Payer Value proposition and payer strategy and objectives for the brand/therapeutic area aligned with the business objectives and in collaboration with the wider office and field-based PRA team and cross-functional teams.
  • Influence brand forecast, MOTs and customer objectives by ensuring the payer and market access constraints are taken into consideration in the customer planning.
  • Ensure coordinated communication of the payer strategy across organization.
  • Monitor and adapt payer strategy in line new payer insights, external or internal changes.
  • Ownership and implementation of the pricing strategy.

Coach and develop the team in order to:

  • Manage HTA submissions across the Nordics countries.
  • Develop specific payer materials, AAPs and programs beyond the product to enable implementation of the strategic initiatives appropriately within the compliance boundaries.
  • Work in collaboration with the HO team to ensure alignment on the development of health economic payer materials (eg. BIM, Financial Planning, D&T templates).
  • Develop tailored messages, tactics, and MCE programs by key payer/segment accounts.
  • Ensure payer materials and programs are used and used appropriately with payer customers.
  • Lead the AAP strategy/design for the brands and work closely with PSP, Pricing and commercial team on securing all needed approval
  • Ensure seamless communication relegated to the brands
  • Work in collaboration with field-based teams to understand the accounts and local priorities to provide strategy and support local teams to achieve access and/or remove and mitigate access blocks.
  • Link to relevant Regional Business Managers with payer insights, including supporting local sales teams in improving market access

Employee engagement/Cross-functional collaboration

  • Act as central point of contact for all relevant payer related activities for the therapeutic area.
  • Accountable for overall payer strategy ensuring alignment with overall brand plan.
  • Work with local VAMs and local PRAs to support payer needs in specific localities.
  • Build links and relationships with other function and help establish PRA within the UK affiliate.
  • Represent PRA in the Nordic leadership team and provide overall PRA view across the Nordics
  • Engage with the Metabolic PRA leader to ensure continuous alignment on the metabolic PRA matters in the Nordic countries
  • Ability to create a vision and inspire the team to achieve it

  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to lead without authority
  • Regional/national level experience of stakeholder engagement and delivery of Partnership Projects
  • Experience of product launches and ability to set the bar high with ambitious objectives
  • In-depth Market Access and NHS knowledge (desirable)
  • Exceptional understanding of NHS policy and local implications
  • Strong understanding of the ABPI code
  • Customer Focus – Internal (KAM) and External (Payer Customers)
  • Ability to prioritise and excellent time-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
  • Confidence and willingness to take on new challenges and manage multiple projects

  • 2+ years’ experience of working in the therapy area of diabetes and/or market access
