Job Description - Head of Cybersecurity

With approximately 1,400 employees operating in more than 20 countries, Carrier's Industrial Fire business is a global leader in fire detection and suppression solutions for high-hazard applications across verticals such as critical infrastructure, oil and gas, marine and clean energy. Our global team leverages strong customer relationships across four recognized brands, Det-Tronics, Marioff, Autronica, and Fireye, to deliver differentiated lifecycle solutions and advance growth across key segments.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to assume the role of Head of Cybersecurity in the Digital organization and aide in a successful transition of the Industrial Fire business from Carrier to Sentinel Capital Partners in Q3 2024. As the Head of Cybersecurity, you will play a critical role in ensuring the protection of our organization's sensitive information and infrastructure and will be accountable for building-up a new standalone cybersecurity function as well as implementing a succesful transition plan. This position will report to the Chief Information Officer of Industrial Fire, and will be based in Vantaa, Finland.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies aligned with business objectives.

Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate security best practices into all aspects of the business.

Responsible for the overall operational and development budget for cybersecurity.

Cybersecurity Governance:

Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.

Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate security threats.

Lead incident response and disaster recovery efforts to minimize the impact of security incidents.

Security Operations:

Evaluate and select vendors and technology partners for cybersecurity solutions.

Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements.

Manage the process for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents.

Implement and maintain security tools and technologies to defend against cyber threats.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to investigate and resolve security incidents.

Compliance and Regulation:

Ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity regulations, industry standards, and contractual obligations.

Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to address compliance requirements and mitigate legal risks.

Participate in audits and assessments to validate the effectiveness of security controls.

Security Awareness and Training:

Promote a culture of security awareness and accountability throughout the organization.

Develop and deliver cybersecurity training programs for employees, contractors, and partners.

Monitor and measure the effectiveness of security awareness initiatives and adjust as necessary.

Experience & Education:

Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing enterprise cybersecurity operations.

In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices.

Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM, and endpoint security.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, etc.

Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
