Sales & Business Development Engineer, Finland and Baltics

Job summary

The Sales & Business Development Engineer, Finland and Baltics ensures the commercial development of Mobile Water Solutions activities and the brand awareness in the Nordics and Baltics regions. Activities include participating in communication actions, prospecting potential customers, preparing proposals in cooperation with the process experts, negotiating prices, developing strategies to boost sales, managing the customer portfolio and ensuring commercial follow-up with customers in order to make them customer for life. The Sales & Business Development Engineer plays a crucial role in business & profitability growth.

Reports to

The Sales & Business Development Engineer reports to the Division Sales Manager – Nordics and Baltics.

Essential duties and responsibilities

This job description represents only the primary areas of responsibility; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.

  • Identifying & prospecting of new potential customers in Finland and the Baltic states.
  • Maintaining contacts with existing customers and building long-term partnerships.
  • Calculating prices based on the standard cost sheet.
  • Preparing proposals (technical & process support from Europe Operations Team)
  • Direct strategic sales and negotiations as well as sales via partner.
  • Establishing sales & development plan for the dedicated area with a support of Division Sales Manager
  • Implementing specific business development plans (priority customers, engineering houses & EPCs, IEX, etc.)
  • Identifying new markets or fields of opportunities
  • Contributing proactively to the business & profitability growth
  • Building brand awareness and educating the market in responsible territories.
  • Implementing marketing plan (support from Europe Marketing Team) and participating in communication events and actions (webinars, seminars, exhibitions, press articles, technical papers)
  • Preparing and actively participating in sales team reviews & reports
  • Performs other duties of similar nature and level as assigned.
  • Willingness to travel and meet customers and partners within the region.

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree of Engineering with relevant working experience
  • Technical background in water treatment (processes & technologies)
  • 5-10 years of working experience in sales & business development in the water treatment industry
  • Finnish and a good level of English language to communicate effectively and clearly with both technical and non-technical personnel, including clients, team members, and management. Russian language is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Google Application Suite and/or Microsoft Office software packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Capability to work across cultures, borders, and different methods of executing business within an international team.

Li censing/certifications

  • Possess a valid Driver’s License to drive in the region.
