Job Description - Sales Director, The Hotel Maria

The Hotel Maria, located in Helsinki's Kruununhaka district, offers a novel choice and service experience for those who appreciate Nordic hospitality and refined luxury hotel experiences. The Hotel Maria features 117 rooms, 38 of which are suites, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, a ballroom, a chapel, spa and wellness facilities. It stands as a one-of-a-kind luxury hotel in Finland, where its elevated standards, opulence, elegance, thoughtfulness and meticulous attention to detail make each guest's visit truly exceptional. The Hotel Maria is part of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection.

We are now hiring a dedicated sales and customer-focused Sales Director to lead The Hotel Maria'sdomestic and international sales .

Whilst we love experience, mindset is of equal importance . We are looking for a personwho is committed with a natural ability to operate effectively in both domestic and global environment. You will be part of the leadership team reporting to General Managerand manage the day-to-day smooth running of the sales office.

Moreover, the Sales Director role includes:

  • Leading the sales officeteam.
  • Creatingand executing an annual sales plan.Understanding and having an acute awareness of the competitive landscape, market and industry trends as well asbeing adaptable to an ever-changing global environment.
  • Planning pricing and revenue management strategies.
  • Producing and reviewing reports to monitor performance.
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with key clients and outside contacts by prospecting. Activities include site inspections, sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
  • Growing existing accounts and finding new revenue streams.
  • Develop strong relationships with the hotel front office team to ensure working in unity and always striving to achieve commongoals.
  • Negotiate, draft, generate and confirm/sign contracts that ensure hotel budget and revenue targets are achieved.
  • You will act as a contact person forPreferred Hotels & Resorts and also closely follow up on various standards set for Legend Collection hotels such as, but not limited to a 24-hour response timeline to clients.
  • Promote local awareness through maintaining relationships with local organizations and tourism authorities.
  • Support The Hotel Maria'sservice and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.

Our expectations for you

The Sales Director must be a detail oriented, hands-on individual who understands the sales, marketing and revenue management aspects of the industry, formulate appropriate strategies, as well as effectively manage, communicate and coach team members. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a strong work-ethic, and is driven to be a leader.Someone with the innate ability to establish and manage both strong and high quality interaction withinternal and external stakeholder relationships using strong influencer, analytical, negotiation and execution abilities will perform well in this role.

Moreover, we expect:

  • Strong understanding of relevant distribution channels, markets and segments
  • Track record developing long term business relationships
  • Five or more years of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales
  • Passion for hospitality and the excitement to sell our hotel
  • Self-motivated drive to source new business
  • Experience in managerial or leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of local businesses and business trends required
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent knowledge of CRM systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and the ability to learn other proprietary computer applications
  • Experience in revenue management is appreciated
  • Previous Opera Cloud experience is appreciated
  • Fluent oral and written proficiency in English, good proficiency in Finnish and other languages is an advantage
