Senior Frontend Engineer

What do we do?

ICEYE is building and operating its commercial constellation of small Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites with SAR data available to customers. Our satellites acquire images of Earth at any time – even when it’s cloudy or dark – providing commercial and government partners with unmatched persistent monitoring capabilities. Information derived from our SAR images helps customers make data-driven decisions to address time-critical challenges in various sectors, such as maritime, disaster management, insurance, and finance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop features and improvements to ICEYE internal applications in a well-tested and performant way.
• Follow, maintain and advocate for best code standards, maintainability and best practices across multiple codebases.
• Help improve user experience of our tools in close collaboration with the users.
• Contribute to workflow processes in a small, cozy and agile team.
• Learn from, collaborate with and teach other frontend developers on our weekly Community of Practice meetings.
• Solve technical problems of operating and maintaining an entire fleet of satellites.

Requirements

Must haves:

1. Excellent knowledge and experience in React and TypeScript 
2. Capability to work with REST API and GraphQL
3. Good knowledge of CSS/preprocessors 
4. Good knowledge of Git
5. Knowledge of UX principles
6. Strong communication skills
7. Experience in writing automated tests
8. Strong understanding of the core CS concepts
9. DevOps mindset and familiarity with infra tooling
10. Self-sufficient with good time management skills
11. Ability to balance high quality code with business needs

Good to have:

1. Familiarity with React Query, Testing Library, Ant Design, Storybook, Playwright, Vite 
2. Ability to create and contribute to UI designs
3. Knowledge of GitHub and GitHub Actions
