About the Job

The Trainee Position at Northern Lights Village Saariselkä offers a unique experience for individuals seeking to broaden their skills in various aspects of hospitality. This programme is designed to provide hands-on experience in departments such as reception, guiding, restaurant service and housekeeping, under the guidance of our experienced staff.

A good performance during a traineeship opens the possibility of a growing career with the Northern Lights Village. 

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day operations across various departments
• Learn to provide impeccable customer service
• Greeting customers and assisting them with queries
• Receive feedback and guidance to aid personal and professional development
• Working with other staff members in a team

Requirements

• Fluent written and spoken English
• Ongoing or completed education in hospitality and/or guiding
• Eagerness to learn and adapt
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods, with tolerance for very low temperatures

Beneficial qualifications

• Valid B drivers' license
• First Aid certificate
• Language skills
• Knowledge of the local area
• Photography skills

Pay, duration and benefits

• The traineeship is unpaid.
• Start: October/November End: February/March
• Three meals a day are offered by the resort
• Accommodation in a shared room is provided free of charge
