We are now entering the next phase in our digital development and investing further in digital capabilities. By engaging our customers, suppliers, and the entire Metso organization, we aim to empower the minerals and metals industry with digital-enabled value-creating solutions. To support our ambition, we are seeking a VP, Software to join our newly established digital organization.


You will report to the Senior Vice President, Minerals Digital in this position.

 
VP, Software Fulfills the mining segment's customer and user needs by developing and maintaining modern, secure, and high-quality digital solutions based on the funding and priorities of the mining segment's digital business owners and portfolio.

This position is mainly located in Espoo, Finland, or Krakow, Poland, but the location is flexible as the most crucial aspect is a perfect match for this position, and we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

 
What you’ll do

 

  • Fulfill the mining segment's customer and user needs by developing and maintaining modern, secure, and high-quality digital solutions based on the funding and priorities of the mining segment's digital business owners and portfolio management.
  • Build and foster a high-performing and collaborative culture of agile cross-functional teams with skills and resources to design, develop, test, and operate digital solutions. 
  • Maintain flexibility and scalability of development teams to react quickly to changing needs and priorities.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex software initiatives. 
  • Ensure development is completed on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Provide support for sales, delivery, and operations.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of software best practices and technological trends. Ensure high-quality and typical architecture and technologies for secure and scalable solutions.
  • Provide resources, teams, tools, and support to cater to other agreed-upon software development needs outside the mining segment or digital scope.


Who you are

 

  • You have expertise and experience in process optimization and control, preferably in the minerals & metals industry.
  • As a collaborative leader, you have experience with global teams and easily navigate different stakeholders, collaborating across diverse cultures and environments. 
  • You have experience related to business strategy and commercialization of digital & automation products and services.
  • You can convey messages effectively through verbal communication and presentations. 
  • You have the experience and executive presence to present to and build relationships with customers in mining companies.
