Are you an international student pursuing your Master's degree at the University of Helsinki? Do you want to gain valuable work experience in one of the leading universities in the world? The University of Helsinki International trainee programme is open to all international students enrolled in a University of Helsinki master programme. is an independent institute of the University of Helsinki. It’s an institute of expertise in language teaching and consists of five language units, the Operational Support team and the Language Services unit. Language Centre’s duties include providing teaching in language and communication skills to students in the faculties and degree programmes of the University of Helsinki, conducting research relevant to this mission, developing language teaching, language learning material and diverse forms of learning. Language Centre is taking part to the international trainee program and is now looking for a TRAINEE for a fixed term period. About the position Your main tasks as a trainee are to assist in organizing different language learning related activities with and for students. Activities include informal language learning possibilities, guidance sessions, the Course Assistant Programme and the Finnish-language Assistant Programme. You will be working together with the Language Centre’s Operational Support team. Together with the team you’ll be improving student inclusion, cultural competence and internationalization at the Language Centre. You will be assisting in communication and collaboration surrounding the ongoing projects. The traineeship also includes communications work e.g. updating the Language Centre website and social media. You will also have the possibility to produce content, e.g. blogposts, about different topics. In addition, the trainee assists in organizing seminars and training sessions. The person we are looking for We expect you to have: excellent skills in spoken and written English an active way of working good presentation and teamwork skills interest in language and communication learning You are an advanced user of Microsoft Office tools.
