Learn more about our benefits. \n\nAs a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You\u0027ll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Additionally, you\u0027ll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.\n\nWe are expanding our Field Service Engineering team in Ireland and are actively seeking engineers based in Finland who are interested in relocating to Ireland.\n\nDue to business growth, we are looking beyond the Irish market and offering a strong international opportunity for technically minded engineers who want hands\u2011on experience with advanced manufacturing equipment, structured training, and long\u2011term career progression within a global technology company.\n\nRelocation assistance is provided.\n\nWhat You\u2019ll Do\n\nAs a Field Service Engineer, you will work directly with our customer on\u2011site in Ireland, ensuring the reliable operation of highly advanced equipment. You\u2019ll be supported by experienced Senior Engineers and extensive training while building deep technical expertise.\n\nYour responsibilities will include:\n\n * Supporting installation, maintenance, and upgrades of customer equipment\n * Using digital analytics tools to assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving\n * Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (full training provided)\n * Learning to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics\n * Communicating directly with customers in a professional, service\u2011oriented manner\n * Working closely with international engineering and support teams\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications: \n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Engineering or a related technical field \n(e.g. Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, Electronics, Physics)\n * Good mechanical aptitude and interest in hands\u2011on technical work\n * Willingness to learn complex industrial equipment\n * Experience solving technical problems\n * Good communication skills in English\n * Basic skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\n * 1\u20132 years\u2019 experience in maintenance, service, manufacturing, or technical support\n * Exposure to pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems, or thermodynamics\n * Familiarity with hand tools and measurement equipment (e.g. multimeters)\n * Background in industrial, automation, energy, or manufacturing environments\n\n\n\nRelocation \u0026 Support\n\n * Support with visa/work permission where required\n * Structured onboarding and technical training\n * Mentoring from experienced Field Service Engineers\n * Long\u2011term career development in a growing global organization\n\n\n\nAdditional Information\n\nTime Type:\n\nFull time\n\nEmployee Type:\n\nAssignee / Regular\n\nTravel:\n\nRelocation Eligible:\n\nNo\n\nApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
