About the Job
We are in search of a social , experienced, and knowledgeable Head Guide to lead our guiding team at Northern Lights Village. The role involves supervising the guiding team, planning, coordinating, and guiding various outdoor activities, while also ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Guiding activities
- Training guiding staff
- Leading by setting a good example, thus engaging the team to achieve it’s goals
- Motivating the guiding team
- Ineracting with team members to receive feedback and help resolve any issues
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and procedures
- Overseeing activities equipment and keeping track of inventory
- Maintaining cleanliness and order in the Safari House and other activities-related areas
- Working together with the Experiences Manager and Experiences Coordinator
- Reporting any damages and / or accidents
Requirements
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Valid B drivers’ license
- First Aid certificate
- Excellent communication skills
- 2 or more years of experience working as a wilderness guide
- Leadership skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Wilderness guide education
- Knowledge of the Lapland region and its natural phenomena
Beneficial Qualifications
- Fluency in other languages in addition to English
- Knowledge of the local area
- Experience in Arctic or cold weather environments
- Photography skills
- Skills in skiing, snowshoeing, and other winter sports
- Ability to handle groups of up to 20pax without assistance

Contract Details
- Starts: October, Ends: March/April
- Minimum 90 working hours per 3 weeks period
- Hourly pay negotiated in an interview, according to knowledge and experience
- Other benefits according to the collective labor agreement
- If necessary, the resort provides accommodation in a shared room for €250,00/month
