International Procurement Specialist

We are currently seeking an International Procurement Specialist for the Building Construction segment.

In this role, you will primarily coordinate international procurements for projects located in Finland. The position involves independently and responsibly managing agreed international procurement packages and contracts for construction sites, based on provided specifications and in compliance with YIT’s ethical guidelines.

You will be responsible for the procurement, continuation, and development of partners within your designated areas. You will also oversee compliance with the Act on the Contractor’s Obligations and Liability when Work is Contracted Out and conduct background checks and on-site audits of new international partners. You will present project-specific international procurement proposals to Site Managers and Procurement Engineers.

Proactive monitoring of the international market situation, particularly regarding pricing and delivery times, is a key part of the role. You will seek safe, high-quality, innovative, cost-effective, and functional procurement solutions in collaboration with the estimating and production teams. You will also participate in YIT Category procurement management when needed.

You will play a significant role in tendering and estimating projects to help secure new contracts. The work is independent, and the role offers the opportunity to shape it according to your strengths. You will report to the Procurement Director.

What we expect from you:

• A sales-oriented mindset. You will need to promote YIT as a partner to new suppliers and internally promote new partners to YIT’s production teams.
• Educational background in construction (e.g. Construction Site Manager, Civil Engineer, M.Sc. in Engineering) or a degree in business.
• Previous international work experience and specialized knowledge in areas such as frame works and interior structures are considered an advantage. Familiarity with contract terms (YSE’98, RYHT, FIDIC) is also beneficial.
• At least 5 years of experience in construction sites or procurement.
• Willingness to travel across Europe.
