About the project

As a Legal Trainee, you will take part in a project focused on commercial contracts and contract management. The project is part of Fortaco’s implementation of a new contract management tool, designed to serve the specific needs of our business units.

You will work closely with our Group Legal Director, especially at the beginning of the project, and gradually take on more independent responsibility as the project progresses.

The project is expected to run for about one month. The position is part-time, approximately 3 working days per week (7.5 hours per day). However, working hours can be adjusted to suit your availability and preferences. Our office is located in Vantaa, and flexible remote work can be agreed upon, though we hope you can work primarily on-site at the very beginning of the project.

What are we looking for?

You are in the intermediate or final stage of your law studies and have an interest in commercial contracts. You have experience in contract law through your studies and/or previous traineeships at a law firm or in-house. While we do not expect you to be fully experienced, prior hands-on experience with contracts will help you confidently take responsibility for the project. As an international company, we expect fluency in both Finnish and English. We also value an open and curious mindset, along with a genuine interest in understanding the bigger picture behind the contracts. 

We expect you to have:

• Law studies in the intermediate or final stage

• Preferably prior experience in contract law and/or due diligence processes through traineeships or other relevant activities

• Fluency in both Finnish and English, as all customer contracts are in English

• Confident Excel skills for basic data entry and documentation

• A curious, eager-to-learn mindset and a willingness to discuss and share findings openly

What we offer?

The project offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in key topics of B2B contracts within a global in-house legal function. You will gain valuable insights into commercial agreements while working closely with our experienced Group Legal Director. Through this project, you will build a strong understanding of how commercial contracts are structured and which terms carry the most significance. It is a valuable stepping stone toward mastering the fundamentals of contract review in practice.

This is Paragraaffi’s Secondment-assignment, where you will be employed to Paragraaffi but work directly with Fortaco Group. All Paragraaffi Secondees are compensated with recommended salaries by The Association of Finnish Lawyers and work under collective agreement.
