Over the last 20 years, Sympa has helped some of the largest companies in the Nordics put people at the centre of their strategy. Today, we support close to 1,000 customers and continue to invest heavily in our engineering organization while actively expanding our development teams.

Our engineering teams are located in Finland and Poland, and as part of our continued growth, we are now looking for a Mobile Developer to join our highly skilled international engineering organization of close to 70 professionals.

We are investing heavily in both modern mobile technologies and AI-assisted software development. Our engineers actively explore new tools and practices, including coding agents, AI-assisted testing, specification-driven development, and automation. We believe developers should take ownership of quality, user experience, and business outcomes—and we aim to be at the forefront of that evolution.

What you will do

As a Mobile Developer, you will play a key role in building Sympa's next-generation mobile experience. You will help design, develop, and evolve our new cross-platform mobile application for iOS and Android, working closely with product, design, and engineering teams from an early stage of the product journey.

Your responsibilities include:

• Contributing to the development and evolution of our next-generation cross-platform mobile application for iOS and Android using React Native, TypeScript, and modern React patterns

• Contributing to technical decisions around mobile architecture, state management, tooling, development practices, and release processes

• Collaborating closely with product, design, and backend teams to create intuitive, accessible, and high-quality mobile experiences

• Integrating mobile applications with backend services and REST APIs while ensuring reliability, security, and performance

• Maintaining and improving mobile functionality, including bug fixes, performance improvements, release support, and production issue investigation

• Implementing authentication and security-related functionality, including OAuth 2.0 / OIDC flows, biometric authentication, and secure storage

• Ensuring quality through testing, code reviews, automation, CI/CD practices, and mobile release processes

• Investigating technical challenges and helping shape practical solutions as the product and platform evolve

• Exploring and adopting AI-assisted development practices and tools while maintaining responsibility for quality, security, and correctness

What do we value in our candidates?

We are looking for a developer with hands-on experience building production mobile applications. You are passionate about creating great user experiences, writing maintainable code, and collaborating with others to solve complex problems.

The following skills and experience are needed to succeed:

• Experience building and maintaining mobile applications with React Native in a professional environment

• Strong TypeScript skills and solid understanding of modern React development, including hooks, functional components, and component composition

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

• Experience with mobile application architecture, state management, API integrations, and mobile lifecycle management

• Understanding of mobile authentication, OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, token management, and secure storage on iOS and Android

• Experience working with REST APIs and building reliable integrations between mobile and backend services

• Familiarity with App Store and Google Play release processes

• Experience with automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering practices

• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills as well as communication skills in English

Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience with:

• Design systems, theming, internationalization, and form-heavy applications

• Native iOS or Android development

• Backend development with C#/.NET, REST APIs, and Azure services

• AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools
