We bring tumor profiling, the use of liquid biopsies, and real-world data insights to health systems and pharma globally. Our work leads to improved patient experiences and outcomes already today, while advancing the development of breakthrough precision oncology therapies for the future.

Role

At Hedera Dx, our mission is to empower clinicians and partners with reliable, scalable, and innovative diagnostic solutions and data solutions. The Platform Engineering Lead plays a crucial role in designing, building, and evolving the core platform(s) and tooling that power our software products, bioinformatics workflows, data deliveries and machine learning systems.

This role is inherently cross-functional: you will collaborate closely with software engineers, bioinformaticians, and ML teams to create a cohesive, secure, and high-performance platform foundation.

Key responsibilities

• Architecting, developing, and maintaining core platform components, services, and infrastructure supporting software, bioinformatics, and ML workloads

• Partnering with cross-functional teams to translate scientific, product, and engineering needs into scalable technical solutions

• Ensuring platform reliability, security, performance, and compliance across cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, APIs, and internal services together with the responsible teams

• Leading improvements to CI/CD, environment automation, observability, and system scalability

• Contributing to long-term platform and technology strategy, including evaluating new tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns

• Establishing and championing engineering best practices, coding standards, and platform governance

• Performing code reviews, technical design sessions, and architectural planning

• Mentoring engineers, fostering cross-team collaboration, and supporting knowledge sharing across R&D

• As the team grows, the Platform Engineering Lead will also take on engineering management responsibilities of the platform/devops team — influencing technical strategy, shaping best practices, processes and operations of the team, and supporting the growth and development as well as hiring of future team members.

Qualifications (Requirements and experience)

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with a proven record of successfully delivering complex projects
