Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services – from concept and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement
Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews
Maintain services once they go live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health as well as being a stakeholder in our observability stack’s design and technology choices
Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
Practice sustainable incident response and blameless retrospectives, participate in the root cause & escalation management processes
MUST HAVES
Real working experience with Microsoft Azure
Knowledge of infrastructure operations and knowledge of current cloud technologies
Great exposure to building production observability mechanisms (system health, metrics aggregation, logs management, dashboards) using 3rd party tools like New Relic, Prometheus, ELK stack or cloud provider native tools like Azure Monitor, Azure Application Insights, Azure Log Analytics
Good scripting skills (PowerShell or Python or Bash)
Understanding the concept of running production container-based workloads, ideally with Azure AKS
Understanding the concept of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Bicep, etc.
Understanding the concept of how load balancing works, ideally experience in configuring load balancers with Azure Application Gateway/Traffic Manager
Experience with DNS, Virtualization, Networks, VPN, Backup & Restore operations
NICE TO HAVE
Experience setting up and operating 24/7 alerting for production workloads
Adaptability to explore Infrastructure subjects from scratch and create PoC
Experience with VMware vSphere and VMware NSX to manage virtual machines, virtual networks, and virtual storage
Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
Experience with orchestration tools like ArgoCD
Exposure to Azure cost & billing management
Exposure to Azure Virtual Desktop
What we are not looking for
DevOps Engineer used to working only as part of dev team who has a lot of knowledge with building pipelines etc., but less about infrastructures and their troubleshooting
Someone with deep AWS knowledge and zero working knowledge of Azure
Someone not able or willing to work with partners and customers when the need arises
