VP International Sales (incl. Interim CSO)

Location: Helsinki, Finland, or remote within Europe with regular Helsinki visits

Employment: Permanent, full-time. Start December 2026 or as soon as possible.

Cactos is a fast-growing, technology-enabled energy company. Cactos offers its industrial and commercial customers affordable electricity and unconstrained power availability despite grid bottlenecks or blackouts, using smart battery energy storage systems.

Cactos is deeply vertically integrated. We build our own LFP battery systems and our proprietary Spine energy management platform, and we deliver hardware, software, automation, services, trading and financing as one solution. We are a balanced responsible party (BRP) and we sell electricity and trade in the markets, both wholesale and ancillary services. We currently operate in seven countries with core markets being the Nordics.

To accelerate our international growth, we are looking for a VP International Sales who will also lead our entire sales organization as interim CSO from January to May 2027, while our CSO is on planned leave.

Role Overview

This is a permanent leadership role with an unusually fast start. For the first months you will run Cactos sales across all markets as interim CSO, reporting to the CEO. When our CSO returns, you will continue to own international sales and new-market expansion as a key member of the sales leadership team.

We are looking for a sales leader who can manage a team and still close deals personally, and who enjoys a product where engineering, energy markets and finance meet.

Key Responsibilities

• Interim sales leadership (Jan–May 2027): Lead the sales team across all markets, own the pipeline, forecast and targets, and keep deal flow moving without a dip

• International sales: Build and lead sales in markets outside Finland

• Market expansion: Open new markets and channels, using your own network and Cactos' existing customer and partner base

• Key deals: Lead large and strategic deals personally, from first meeting to signed contract

• Team development: Recruit, coach and manage a multinational sales team; build repeatable processes and a reliable forecast

• Commercial feedback: Work closely with product, engineering and trading to turn customer insight into better offers and products

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leading international B2B sales teams, ideally across several countries

• Experience selling technical products or capital goods with long sales cycles and significant deal sizes

• Solid understanding of Nordic electricity markets: spot, intraday, balancing and ancillary services markets, grid tariffs

• Exceptional analytical ability: you are comfortable building a customer business case from market data, and you enjoy understanding how the system actually works

• Strong network in international energy, industrial or infrastructure markets is a strong plus

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; other European languages, especially Danish and Swedish, are a plus

• Higher education in engineering, economics or a related field

Why Join Us

Cactos offers a rare opportunity to lead sales for a vertically integrated energy technology company at a point of rapid international growth. You will step straight into the top sales role, work directly with the CEO and leadership team, and build the international sales organization that takes Cactos to its next stage.
