Software Test Engineer

Your role

As a Software Test Engineer, you would participate to Saab 9LV combat management system (CMS) related test activities at Tampere, Finland. You would be a part of an Agile software development team, initially focusing on simulation and training capabilities.

Your main responsibilities will include

• Test design
• Testing of new features, failure corrections and other changes
• Manual and/or automated software release and regression testing
• Test automation development and maintenance

Your profile

First of all, it is important that you feel motivating to work with defense related systems and you want to learn to understand and use the systems, which you would be testing.

We wish that you would have system or software engineering related education and preferably couple of years work experience from software testing, maybe also specification or implementation at some phase of your career. The basic understanding of Linux based systems and containers helps you to dig into the roots of the possible findings.

Our working environment is global and therefore you must have fluent English and Finnish skills.

You are familiar with agile way of working and using Jira or similar ticket system. You also prefer to use a real test management tool instead of Excel, and you have experience of doing so.

You understand the essence of automated testing but are not afraid of manual testing either. Having hands-on experience from doing test automation with Robot Framework would be nice asset.

In this job, some of your tasks have a connection to defense secrecy. Therefore, a drug test and approved security clearance in accordance with the Finnish Security Clearance act 726/2014 is required for the selected applicant.
