Team Coach

Sometimes, cloud technologies can be offered as a patchwork of ready-made solutions. At UpCloud, however, you'll be working with something that we've built from the ground up! Our existing infrastructure relies on open-source with a heavy emphasis on a distributed microservices architecture.

With a strong and constantly developing portfolio of IaaS and PaaS solutions, we are set up for big growth. To accelerate this market expansion, we’re looking for a Team Coach for our Helsinki office to take the lead of a constellation of two different teams, reporting directly to our CPO. You will guide our development teams, help our Product Managers with prioritisation, and lead planning and work for your development teams.

In this role you will:

• Be the manager of your engineering teams, guiding and coaching individuals and enabling their personal development, removing blockers, and also recruiting new people

• Ensuring your teams have a shared, clear mission, know the expectations of their work, and reach the set goals

• Facilitate the teams and Product Managers in planning and executing our products

• Improve ways of working and processes together with the other Team Coaches

You will need to have:

• Deep understanding and expertise in the day-to-day of engineering teams and fluency in development practices, either from a long history of working with tech teams, or even better: through a technical background of your own

• Basic understanding of cloud business

• Excellent track record and deep focus in people leadership: coaching, mentoring, performance management, and facilitation

• A highly pragmatic, hands-on way of working: focusing on the “execute” phase and getting things done

• Great communication skills: you’re a smooth, diplomatic negotiator who can build and maintain great relationships with a variety of different stakeholders

• An agnostic attitude towards agile methods: you modify your approach based on different environments, requiring different approaches

• Skilled in context shifting, jumping from one domain to another: one moment you may be discussing new product features, the next outlining new company-wide KPIs

• Experience in release management and continuous delivery

• At least some background in a scale-up environment

The pay range for this role is around 5500-6500 euros per month, depending on your seniority. The range is not set in stone, as we assess each case individually.
