We arelooking for a highly motivated person to join us in this journey as OperationalPurchaser in Inbound Logistics and Operations team at SSAB’s Nordic RawMaterial and Energy Procurement, dealing with raw material deliveries andshipments to our sites in Nordics.

About the position

We are looking for a highlymotivated Operational Purchaser dealing mainly with scrap purchases but alsofor alloys and other hot metal raw materials we use at SSAB. You will be responsiblefor ensuring that the internal customers receive deliveries in accordance withapplicable agreements and production needs as well as being the contact forday-to-day activities with suppliers and logistics partners. You will be a keymember in one or several commodity teams working with one or several siteswhere it will be important to create good relationships with other functions.Besides earlier mentioned responsibilities, you will also contribute toprocurement’s overall strategy.

As an operational purchaser atSSAB, you will play a critical role in our inbound logistics and operationsteam, with the possibility to get involved in the global transport business.

This position requires occasionaltravel and is based in Luleå, Oxelösund or Raahe, with the option for partialremote work. 

Main responsibilities

• Ensuring timely deliveries of raw materials in alignment with internal requirements and agreements
• Serving as a contact for internal customer, suppliers and logistics partners, managing day-to-day activities including order statuses and delivery plans
• Optimizing delivery schedules, creating purchase orders and handle the order follow-up
• Verifying invoice accuracy against purchase agreements
• Identifying and communicating new contractual needs to strategic purchasers
• Handling of shipments for import cargoes from load port to discharge port

About You

• Experience in sourcing, economics and/or logistics preferably within the related field
• Thrives in a fast-paced work environment and has strong orientation to get things done with ability to dig into details for being able to understand the big picture
• Open-minded personality and initiative approach for new challenges and developing the way of working and business practices
• Exhibits strong integrity, social skills, and ability to work efficiently and in collaborative way as part of the team
• Proficient in English to work in the international playground, English is our official company language
• We expect you to have a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in economics or technology with strong skills in MS tools, experience with SAP and IFS is a plus
