The Role
As a System Designer at Neon Koi, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and balancing game systems for our game. You will work closely with designers, developers, and product managers to create systems that enhance player engagement and monetisation while ensuring a fun and fair gaming experience.
This role can be based in Helsinki or Berlin.
Responsibilities
- Design robust & scalable systems, spot edge cases early, and highlight potential issues or synergies with other systems
- Create detailed design documents and specifications for new systems and features.
- Work closely with the design team to ensure systems align with the overall game vision and design.
- Collaborate with developers to integrate systems into the game, ensuring smooth implementation and functionality.
- Partner with the analytics team to track system performance and make data-driven adjustments.
- Continuously monitor and balance game systems to ensure a fair and enjoyable player experience.
- Analyze player feedback and data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
- Conduct playtests to gather feedback and refine systems.
- Partnering with our Economy Designer on monetization strategies, including in-app purchases and ads, to maximize revenue without compromising player experience.
- Stay current with industry trends and competitor games to identify new opportunities and best practices.
- Propose innovative ideas for new systems and features that enhance the game and meet business goals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in game design with at least 2+ years in System Design
- Experience in F2P mobile games
- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful game systems
- Strong understanding of game mechanics, player psychology, and monetisation strategies
- Proficiency in creating design documents, specifications, and wireframes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with live ops and event design
