In Tampere, our three core areas are HERE Positioning, HERE Tracking, and HERE Indoor.

HERE Positioning takes resolving the Latitude and Longitude beyond what GPS can do. We use a variety of sensors and radios, as well as geography-grade satellite-based positioning technologies to provide positioning outdoors and indoors, down to sub-meter level in three dimensions.  HERE Tracking provides visibility and predictability to global logistic networks like never before. Attaching a small tracker to every shipment in the world enables us to predict delays, save costs, and optimize the deliveries to save the environment. Lastly,  HERE EV  delivers static and dynamic data on EV charging stations to our customers for search and navigation purposes to help drivers keep their batteries charged. 

HERE EV  is a product family used to deliver static and dynamic data on EV charging stations to our customers through the HERE Platform, APIs, and customer endpoints like the HERE Navigation On-Demand and HERE WeGo application. Data quality is of the highest importance so we are building processes and algorithms to ensure drivers only receive fresh and accurate EV charge point data. You will have the satisfaction of knowing you are positively impacting the driving experience of EV drivers through your work. We have a team with backend developers, test automation experts, DevOps, and data engineers. We are based in Tampere and have a good mix of people who can coach new joiners. The team working language is English. The HERE Electric Vehicles Charge Points team is responsible for delivering EV charge point data globally to electric vehicles as part of a wide range of HERE automotive products.

Now, we want to apply statistics and machine learning models to understand the EV charging station usage patterns. These patterns are further used to deliver a data feed to aid EV drivers in finding an available charging station. The input to the system can be the historical charging point usage data and other contextual data. The output is the estimated charging station availability at different times in the near future.

We are now looking for a trainee to our HERE EV Charge Points team for three months. In this role you will be

• Designing new algorithms and models to process the EV Charge Point data.
• Working in a team of software development experts.

• Studies in mathematics, machine learning or related disciplines.
• Knowledge of Python and working with Python Pandas is a must.
• You need to be able to use Git.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Projects dealing with large data sets and machine learning are a plus.
