About The Role

As a Business Development Manager focused on the african defense sector, you will be the key connector between government stakeholders, procurement processes, and technical teams—driving growth through bid formulation, contract management, and deep engagement with the national defense ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities within the African defense sector, with a focus on UAV technology and government procurement.
Lead the preparation and submission of bids, proposals, and tenders, ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to position Destinus solutions effectively within the defense ecosystem.
Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and procurement frameworks to identify potential business opportunities.
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, legal, and finance) to ensure alignment with business objectives.
Negotiate and manage contracts, securing favorable terms and ensuring successful project execution.

What You’ll Need

  • 10 - 20 years of professional experience in business development, sales, procurement, or strategic roles within the defense sector
  • Proven military experience with a strong understanding of defense operations, structures, and decision-making environments
  • Solid track record in the UAV or drone industry or direct exposure to government procurement processes is highly desirable
  • Deep knowledge of the African defense ecosystem, including procurement frameworks, key stakeholders, and institutional dynamics
  • Experience working with government tenders, defense contracts, or technology sales within regulated environments
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify, shape, and execute strategic opportunities
  • Excellent communication and networking skills with a natural ability to build trust and influence stakeholders
  • Ability to operate independently while navigating complex, fast-paced environments
  • Background in engineering, business, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the defense industry
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel across France and internationally to represent Destinus at key events and engagements.
