Energy Consultant Industry Senior

Our consultancy team sustainable is looking for an Energy Consultant Senior who wants to contribute to a growing organization and join us in helping the industry in the Netherlands to accelerate the energy transition . You will contribute to this with both content and process. You will work from one of our locations in Veghel, Wageningen or Arnhem and from home.

What do you do as an energy consultant at QING?

You will help our clients leave the earth more beautiful than they found it. You do this by making technical-economic analyses (often feasibility studies) for industrial companies that want to make them more sustainable, providing your client with advice based on these analyses, and then supporting them in the implementation phase by taking on part of the project management . You are therefore involved from start to finish in, among other things, sustainability solutions for the energy side of thermal industrial process technology , but also generic sustainable energy technologies such as solar power (PV), battery storage systems, wind turbines and geothermal energy.

We focus on three themes within industry sustainability:

• Electrification : transition from the use of (fossil) fuels to electrically powered processes. Example: heat pumps or e-boilers instead of gas boilers.
• Flexibilization: adjusting the electricity consumption profile to provide a grid stabilization service. Example: energy storage in batteries or demand side response.
• Process efficiency : design processes smarter to achieve energy savings. Example: utilizing waste heat.

What you will do in concrete terms:

• You discuss client needs and conduct in-depth discussions to shape and frame assignments
• You analyze existing energy systems and energy flows and identify sustainability options
• You outline an energetic and financial picture of sustainability options based on indicative calculations with key figures
• You model the energetic performance of the solutions you have identified and determine the optimal configuration of the system.
• You perform financial analysis to substantiate costs and payback periods of your solution
• You communicate and present the findings of your research with a concise and understandable report
• After submitting your report, you will remain a point of contact for the client to answer any (follow-up) questions, and, when necessary, explain your work
• You perform both project managing, directing and executive (content) roles in projects.
• You think along about possible improvements regarding the operational management at QING Sustainable.

These skills you bring

What you must really enjoy (and therefore have to be good at) is transforming complex issues into rock-solid analyses, drawing conclusions from them and then communicating these in an understandable way with an eye for the client's interests and level of knowledge. This requires both the skills of an engineer and a project manager. So put those social feelers of yours to work!

What else to bring:

• Preferably several years of experience working with/analyzing (renewable) energy technologies and/or coordinating consulting projects
• Preferably a university background with technical specialization . Some examples of suitable undergraduate and graduate programs: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Data Scienceo, Sustainable Energy Technology, Energy Science or Energy & Environment
• You can easily switch between process and content
• You quickly distinguish between core and side issues
• You are results-oriented, incisive and can prioritize and structure projects well
• You are analytical and good at calculations
• You oversee how your work relates to that of others and what that means for the project you are working on
• You are able to process complex information quickly

What else can you expect from QING?

• Monthly salary (full-time) depending on your job performance, knowledge and expertise from €4000 - €6000
• Flexible contract hours and option to work 32, 36 or 40 hours.
• Hybrid working : you are expected to spend about 50% of your contract hours (or more) physically working with your colleagues.
• Profit distribution based on achieved (team) results
• Company car is negotiable depending on your job performance
• Pension plan; QING pays 50% of your pension contribution
• 26 vacation days based on 40-hour work week. Buy-in of vacation days is an option
• Vacation pay: 8% of your gross annual salary vacation pay paid in May
