The Position

Job Summary

Company

On March 28, 2024, Imerys Group ( published a press release announcing it has entered into exclusive negotiations with Flacks Group for the contemplated divestment of its assets producing kaolin, ground calcium carbonate (“GCC”), precipitated calcium carbonate (“PCC”), and talc, which primarily serve the paper markets in North Americas, South America, Asia and Europe.

The future company formed by all these industrial sites, kaolin mine, port and logistic hubs is foreseen to start its operation under a new brand in the course of 2024. It will offer mineral solutions for industries worldwide. Currently serving mostly the paper and board markets , the new company will use its global footprint, unique assets and longstanding know-how to develop new business opportunities and foster innovation. Sustainability is a core value of this company.

With an annual revenue of around 350 million euros in 2023, this activity will employ about 1000 employees. The Company needs to reinforce the existing teams to operate as a standalone organization but also to meet its ambitious development plans.

Role overview:

Establish and maintain all marketing strategies. To build, shape and lead the Global Marketing team to drive a variety of marketing campaigns across the globe.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Develop and execute a global marketing strategic plan, partnering with product line management, corporate and regional marketing and commercial teams in each region.

Support company growth initiatives by assessing relevant markets for size, drivers and key players in relevant segments

Align and support the broader company strategic plan and growth initiatives.

Improve continiously the marketing function including talent, structure, processes, tools and techniques.

Define specific goals for the marketing organisation and measure the commercial and brand impact of marketing initiatives using well-defined metrics and KPIs.

Understand the competitive landscape and define approaches to differentiate our value-propositions in the marketplace.

Manage relationships with agencies and outside marketing partners to accelerate marketing initiatives.

Manage the global marketing budget to plan, working closely with regional leaders to optimise marketing spend.

Monitor market trends for all relevant industry segments and report monthly and quarterly


Qualifications & Experience:

Degree in Marketing, Engineering, or a related field

A minimum of 10-15 years of professional experience in B2B marketing strategy roles within the manufacturing industry sector (e.g. chemicals, minerals, pulp, paper & board, machinery supplies) with connections to the Paper/Board industry is required for this position

Outstanding proficiency in English


Skills & Person Specification:

Strategic mindset and high business acumen.

Excellent leadership skills and ability to set direction and develop the team. Good understanding of P&L data and financial modeling as key tools to understand the new business profitability

Autonomy : Has defined authority and accountability for actions and decisions

Strong interpersonal skills and negotiation experience

Team player : Thrives on collaboration and productive professional relationships, communicates effectively with all levels in the organization
