Description de l'emploi - Head of Compliance EU (France)

Relai is on a mission to simplify Bitcoin saving and investing. As Europe’s fastest growing Bitcoin-only investment app, we’re rapidly scaling. To support this growth, we’re building a lean and high-performing compliance team ready to drive impact.

We’re looking for a Head of Compliance EU to play a pivotal role in ensuring Regulatory, AML, and KYC compliance across Relai’s operations in the EU. You’ll help safeguard our platform, ensuring that retail users, high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), and small-medium-sized businesses (SMEs) can securely grow their Bitcoin holdings while meeting all legal and compliance requirements. Your contributions will directly impact Relai’s ability to operate seamlessly within the fast-evolving regulatory landscape for Bitcoin investing in the EU.

What You’ll Do

  • Regulatory Compliance Management – Maintain Relai’s existing MiCA license (CASP A2025-006), and expand it in line with business objectives. Monitor regulatory developments and act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies.

  • TRACFIN Correspondent Duties – Serve as the designated TRACFIN Correspondent, overseeing AML/CFT compliance, reporting suspicious transactions, and ensuring timely submission of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs).

  • Policy Development – Develop, fine-tune, and implement compliance policies and procedures aligned with MiCA requirements. Communicate policies effectively to internal stakeholders.

  • Risk Management – Conduct compliance risk assessments, monitor transactions for illicit activities, and implement AML/CTF measures in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • People Management – Manage a team of 5 to 7 AML, KYC, and compliance analysts, and help them develop to grow their compliance skills.

  • Training & Awareness – Develop and deliver compliance training programs to ensure staff understand regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Reporting & Documentation – Prepare regular compliance reports for senior management and the Supervisory Board of Relai EU. Maintain accurate records of all compliance activities and regulatory submissions.

  • Audit & Investigation – Coordinate EU compliance audits, investigate potential breaches, and implement corrective actions. Report any compliance violations to relevant authorities.

  • Advisory Role – Provide expert advice on compliance matters, stay informed on industry trends, and advise leadership on potential regulatory impacts.

 What You Bring

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in a compliance role within fintech or financial services in the EU (France and/or Germany preferred). Proven experience in managing DASP, MiCA, or similar financial licenses.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of the French regulatory environment, including experience with TRACFIN, AMF, and ACPR. Familiarity with EU-wide regulations such as MiCA is highly desirable.

  • Bitcoin Knowledge: Solid understanding of the Bitcoin ecosystem is a plus. Willingness to learn all about it is a must.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree or specialized compliance certification (e.g., CAMS, CCEP) is a plus.

  • Location: Must be based in France or willing to relocate to France.

  • Language Skills: Fluency in French and English is required. Knowledge of German is a plus.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and risk management abilities, particularly in AML/CTF contexts.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex regulatory issues to non-experts.

  • Proactive & Independent: Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

What you’ll get

  • Leading role – A crucial role in the Extended Leadership Team, with direct reporting to the C-suite and regular interactions with the Supervisory Board.

  • 100% remote work – Join a fully remote, flexible team working across Europe. We will help you set up and enjoy remote work with a monthly allowance.

  • Equipment – Relai will provide the latest MacBook laptop and an iPhone to ensure smooth and effective work.

  • Education & Development budget – We will invest in your constant growth.

  • Competitive salary + employee participation – We grow together.

  • Monthly subscriptions – Netflix? Gym? Spotify? We got you!

  • 0% fees on Bitcoin purchases at Relai – Stack sats with ease.

  • Travel  – A few times a year, you will get the chance to spend some time with the Team in various European locations.

  • Referral program – With each person you suggest and we hire, you get a bonus.
