Work at an XAnge portfolio startup

You would join one of XAnge’s 80+ portfolio companies: fast-growing European tech startups building meaningful products across B2B SaaS, Healthtech, Fintech, Climatetech, Deeptech and beyond. These are scale-ups where the product and its architecture are the core of the company, with small, ambitious teams where ownership is real, decisions are fast, and your impact is visible from day one. Every company in the pool is backed by XAnge (Siparex Group) and surrounded by a community of 80+ founders and operators to lean on.

The team and why we need you

As CTO, you typically join a founder-led company that needs to turn an early product into a robust, scalable platform and build the engineering organization around it. You might step in as the first senior tech leader or succeed a technical co-founder. You own technology and engineering, report directly to the CEO/founders, and partner closely with Product and the business.

Why we need you: at this stage, technical choices and team quality set the ceiling on how fast the company can grow.

Your goals as CTO

Your mission is to build the technology and the team that can scale with the company. Typically, you will:

1. Own the technical vision and architecture, balancing speed of delivery with scalability and technical debt.

2. Build, structure and grow the engineering team through hypergrowth.

3. Put modern engineering practices in place (CI/CD, DevOps, code review, agile) and a strong engineering culture.

4. Partner with Product and the board to ship the roadmap and represent tech to investors.

Who we’re looking for

We care about track record and mindset, not pedigree. 10+ years is a guideline, not a hard rule: exceptional profiles below that threshold are welcome.

Preferred experience: 10+ years in software engineering with several in technical leadership (Seed to Series B+), having built and scaled tech teams through hypergrowth.

• Hard skills: cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure); backend (Python, Node.js, Java, Go), APIs, microservices; modern practices (CI/CD, DevOps, agile/scrum); shipping at pace while managing tech debt; AI/ML or data infrastructure a plus.

• Soft skills: technical leadership and mentoring; comfortable in board meetings; cross-functional collaboration with Product and business; pragmatic decision-making; builder mindset.
