Head of Global Corporates France (f/m/d)

What you will do:
As Head of Global Corporates (GC) France, you will be responsible for the HSBC Global Corporates franchise in France, covering large corporates, including CAC 40 companies.
You will be accountable for defining and executing the strategy, driving origination, and leading team performance to deliver sustainable growth, improve returns, and strengthen HSBC’s position as the leading international bank for large French corporates.
This role requires a strong commercial mindset, deep product expertise, and proven experience in senior coverage of CAC 40 clients, built on long-term, trusted relationships with executive management teams.
You will also demonstrate excellent leadership and people management capabilities, leading a diverse and senior team with significant levels of responsibility, while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership of the Global Corporates team in France, delivering strong financial results and supporting long-term client growth
- Manage a team of highly experienced senior bankers, ensuring effective onboarding of new joiners and embedding a performance-driven culture focused on client intensity and service quality
- Promote a high-performance culture based on success, quality of products and services, client focus, and operational efficiency
- Develop the team’s technical capabilities and product expertise to enhance the quality of client dialogue and solutions delivered
- Strengthen sector specialisation and industry expertise within the team
- Ensure consistent origination and delivery of the full range of HSBC solutions, including transaction banking and financial products such as Capital Markets & Advisory (CMA), Infrastructure Finance, and Sustainable Finance
- Demonstrate strong commercial skills and leverage a robust network with senior executives of large French corporates, particularly CAC 40 companies
- Increase client profitability and HSBC’s share of wallet by enhancing the effectiveness of client relationships
- Optimise capital allocation, including improving revenues from lower-performing clients
- Work closely with product, credit, risk, and Capital Management teams to ensure alignment between client needs and proposed solutions
- Deliver revenue, client satisfaction, and cost management objectives
- Ensure robust risk management, covering financial and non-financial risks, credit risk, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Engage with regulators and other external stakeholders in France, as required

- Deep understanding of the Large and Global Corporates segment in France, particularly CAC 40 companies, including their strategic and operational needs
- Established, long-term trusted relationships with senior executives of CAC 40 companies
- Strong origination capabilities and ability to lead high-level strategic client discussions
- Expertise in transaction banking and corporate finance products, including CMA, infrastructure, and ESG solutions
- Solid market and sector knowledge
- Demonstrated experience in leading change within teams and organisations
- Strong understanding of non-financial and credit risks, including experience in control frameworks and regulatory compliance
- Excellent commercial acumen
- Degree from a leading business school with a specialisation in Finance, or an MBA
- Minimum 20 years of successful experience in Commercial or Corporate Banking, including managerial responsibilities and a proven ability to build close relationships with senior client executives
