Resident Engineer – Mechanical | Data Centres & Mission Critical

Our client is a leading international engineering consultancy specialising in Data Centres and Mission Critical infrastructure. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer – Mechanical to support the delivery of major hyperscale and mission-critical projects in Paris.

The Role
Working as the client's on-site technical representative, you will oversee mechanical installation activities, ensure compliance with approved designs, and support successful project delivery from construction through commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor mechanical installation works against approved designs and specifications.


• Review site quality, workmanship, and compliance standards.


• Identify and resolve technical and coordination issues during construction.


• Work closely with contractors, consultants, and project teams.


• Participate in inspections, testing, commissioning, and project handovers.


• Support project reporting, site reviews, and stakeholder coordination.


• Ensure projects are delivered safely and in line with design intent.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.


• Experience within Data Centres, Mission Critical facilities, Building Services, Industrial projects, or complex construction environments.


• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, critical cooling infrastructure, mechanical plant, and building services systems.


• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.


• Experience working directly with contractors, consultants, and site teams.


• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
