This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a MCP Engineer / AI Backend Engineer in France.
This role sits at the intersection of backend engineering, AI systems, and modern cloud infrastructure. You will design and build MCP-based services and AI-powered backend systems that support internal teams and production workflows. The position focuses on creating reliable, scalable, and observable AI integrations using TypeScript, Node.js, and serverless edge technologies. You will contribute to the development of automation systems, internal tools, and agentic workflows that enhance operational efficiency. Working in a fast-evolving AI environment, you will help shape how AI tools interact with backend services. This is a hands-on engineering role where experimentation, iteration, and production-grade delivery go hand in hand.
Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and maintain MCP servers and MCP-based integrations, ensuring reliable communication between AI agents and backend systems
- Develop scalable backend services using TypeScript and Node.js, leveraging frameworks such as Hono, Fastify, NestJS, or Next.js APIs
- Build and deploy serverless/edge solutions using Cloudflare Workers and related services (KV, Durable Objects, Queues, R2, D1)
- Create and optimize AI-powered workflows, including prompt design, tool definitions, and LLM integrations
- Implement APIs, automation flows, and service-to-service integrations with strong focus on reliability, observability, and maintainability
- Debug and improve system behavior across MCP infrastructure, backend services, and AI workflows
Requirements:
- Strong professional experience with TypeScript and Node.js in backend development
- Experience building REST APIs, backend services, or distributed systems
- Familiarity with backend frameworks such as Hono, Fastify, NestJS, or Next.js API routes
- Experience with serverless or edge environments, ideally Cloudflare Workers or similar
- Solid understanding of API design, authentication, logging, error handling, and system observability
- Hands-on experience integrating services and building automation or internal tools
- Strong interest or experience in AI systems, LLMs, and prompt engineering
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, production-ready code with strong debugging skills
- High ownership mindset and comfort working independently in fast-moving environments
- Strong plus: experience with MCP, LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude), tool-based AI workflows, or Cloudflare ecosystem services
