Job Description:
• Establish the specifications and technological requirements to be developed for new processes.
• Ensure the implementation of Ficosa process standards.
• Collaborate on the analysis of production problems (productivity and quality) at the plant, proposing appropriate corrective measures to improve the process using global standards.
• Participate in Project meetings and provide the necessary documentation in SDS (Safety Data Sheets).
• Work closely with product engineers who apply FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) methods to boost process productivity and reduce associated costs.
• Actively participate in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) meetings.
• Participate in the new project submission process, analyze product design to ensure optimal industrialization, and analyze the costs and investments associated with industrialization.
• Participate in R&D projects for new products, proposing suitable solutions for the processes.
• Participate in benchmarking teams and help analyze process-related issues.
• Research and develop new technologies for production processes, with the aim of improving existing processes.
• Propose improvements to current process standards.
• Support continuous improvement activities for production processes at the plant.
• Train maintenance staff on new production processes and production personnel on new lines and facility modifications.
• Support the maintenance department with diagnostics.
• Manage and monitor suppliers (consultation, commercial negotiation, technology selection, validation).
• Adhere to Ficosa's Code of Ethics to prevent fraudulent practices. Comply with the applicable Information Security Management System (ISMS) and related training.
• Actively participate in maintaining, promoting, and improving occupational health and safety (OHS) and the quality department.
Responsibilities as an Automation Engineer:
• Define plant-specific standards for hardware and software specifications.
• Design and implement control systems for assembly lines.
• Ensure that programs and interfaces are: robust (bug-free), easy to use and troubleshoot, and optimized for machine safety, performance, and quality.
• Update standards by incorporating user feedback and lessons learned from programming, products, or processes to apply them to new projects.
• Provide technical support for plant industrialization.
• Provide technical support for maintaining programs, installations, and processes, and troubleshooting any malfunctions.
• Support and train the maintenance department in diagnostics.
• Conduct technological monitoring and provide expertise in automation, vision/control, and robotics.
• Ensure program archiving.
