R&D Manager - Software & AI | MedTech Scale-Up

To support its growth, the company is looking for an experienced R&D Manager to lead and scale the technical team, oversee software development, drive AI integration, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Your Responsibilities :

Technical & Product Leadership

• Lead and structure a growing R&D team (currently 6 engineers); support future hiring plans.
• Coordinate software development projects (C++, Web, Cloud, Cybersecurity).
• Supervise the integration of AI / Machine Learning algorithms related to 4D imaging.
• Implement and monitor R&D processes in compliance with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304.

Strategic Vision & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Participate in the executive committee; contribute to product vision and strategic decisions.
• Work closely with Product, Clinical, Quality, and Commercial teams.
• Manage R&D partnerships, subcontractors, and budget.
• Contribute to the drafting of R&D deliverables and grant reports.

Your Profile :

Education & Experience

• Degree from a top-tier engineering school in France or abroad (e.g., École Polytechnique, Mines Paris, CentraleSupélec, Ponts, Supaéro, Centrale Lyon...).
• 5–7+ years of experience in software R&D within a structured, regulated environment (ideally MedTech or a highly regulated industry).
• Strong knowledge of ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 standards.
• Solid experience in software development with good foundations in applied mathematics, data science, and ML.
• Familiar with technical documentation requirements in regulated environments.

Soft Skills & Languages

• Strong analytical mindset; structured and solution-oriented.
• Excellent communication skills across diverse teams.
• Fluent in French and English (daily international interactions).
• Appetite for fast-paced, high-impact start-up environments.
