Senior Payments Engineer

WA.Technology is a B2B supplier of iGaming solutions with rapidly growing clients and partnerships in emerging markets. We offer a state-of-the-art iGaming platform, turnkey solutions, and standalone products that empower operators to enter or expand into emerging markets quickly and easily.

The WA.Platform is a fully scalable and customisable solution, featuring over 75 game providers, 6,400+ games, and support for multiple currencies, along with access to over 80 payment methods. WA. Technology enables operators to build their own casino, sportsbook, lottery, fantasy, or poker business precisely as they envision it.

In this role, you will need to:

• Integration of 3rd party providers’ payment systems. 

• Improvement and development of payment modules.

• Optimizing integrations in high-traffic systems. 

• Offer technical support and resolve any related issues. 

• Contribute to overall strategic direction and roadmaps, working together with project managers and product owners. 

• Own analysis, design, and delivery of end-to-end features, employing industry best practices, with a special focus on scalability and high performance. 

• Write clean, well-documented, maintainable, and reliable code. 

• Take ownership of system stability over the different environments.

• Maintain and continually improve the existing systems and protocols to meet evolving business needs and creative ideas for improvement. 

• Integrate new products into the existing framework while ensuring seamless operation. 

• Implement security and data protection measures to safeguard the confidential information. 

What are the key experience and personal attribute requirements?

• +4 years of experience working with PHP and object-oriented programming (OOP) willing to work without the use of frameworks. 

• Hands-on experience in REST with high-load environments, and a deep understanding of Web Socket-based infrastructure. 

• Proficient in writing and optimizing MySQL queries, and architect data solutions in high-concurrency environments. 

• Proficiency in code versioning tools, such as GIT. 

• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile principles, Quality, Security, and Continuous Delivery concepts. 

• Comfortable with a “you build it, you run it” culture. 

• Experience working in a LEMP environment. 

• Positive, growth mindset, knowledge sharing, and creativity while working autonomously and with others

• Basic understanding of Linux systems and front-end technologies (e.g. JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS) 

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills 

• Excellent communication skills in English.
