Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a TECHNICAL-COMMERCIAL ENGINEER, SERVICE PRODUCTS to be part of our Service Sales Team at Waters, Paris (Lyon).

The successful candidate will be responsible for Developing service business across all products whilst ensuring the retention of the existing client base. The key objective being to achieve the sales target for the designated territory.

Position will be located at : Domicile : Lyon idéalement ou dans le territoire assigné

Territory: Grand Est, Auvergne Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne France-Comté, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Languedoc-Roussillon

Salary: Base + %

Company car: Yes

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

  • Managing the entire Service Plan and Upgrade sales process and establishing partnerships with our customers.
  • Managing resources, liaising and educating across departments – working closely with support groups (e.g. Instrument Sales, Chemistry Operation, Informatics, Marketing and Order Entry) in addition to close cooperation with the operational Service Managers and Engineers.
  • Formulating and successfully implementing business plans.
  • Planning and prioritising personal time and sales activities.
  • Managing the plan product mix, upgrades, customer education, professional services and pricing to agreed targets.
  • Using and updating the customer relationship management system, the service plan quotation system, and other systems as required.
  • Travels : Willingness to travel 50% of her/his time.

  • Qualifications

    The successful candidate is likely to have the following competencies:

  • Highly motivated individual with charisma, perseverance and drive, plus the ability to work effectively in pressurised sales situations.
  • Customer focused with excellent listening skills.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical & commercial values.
  • Good interpersonal skills with a positive sense of humour and must be a good team player - prepared to work as a member of an integrated sales/service organisation.
  • Good priority setting and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of computers and the use of standard Windows-based packages (knowledge of a Waters chromatography or mass spectrometry data system would be desirable)
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Master in Chemistry, Biochemistry(Bac +4 / Bac +5)

  • Technical sales experience, ideally in the software or mass spec field

  • Experience in a laboratory, with a background in chromatography and mass spectrometry would be a plus
  • Field Service Experience in chromatography and mass spectrometry would be a plus
