SME (Subject Matter Expert) - Evaporation & Dry Technologies

JOB SUMMARY

Act as an internal consultant, providing specialist expertise in Evaporation and Dry Technologies and supporting Sales and Execution in order to effectively and positively contribute to business growth and profitability.

One of the key focus will be around Upgrades, Plant modifications and Optimizations: feasibility validation (including on site audits) and design proposition.

Salary range: 65/85keuros depending on experience

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• provides advanced knowledge, guidance, and authoritative insight in his domain of expertise. The SME ensures that projects, products, training, and decisions are grounded in accurate, up‑to‑date, and high‑quality expertise.

• Collaborates with cross functional teams and acts as an internal consultant on specific mission to support other departments:
  
  
  
  • Sales : engages with clients, together with sales/product teams, to discover and win new opportunities. Lead value proposition & technical sales presentations focused on differentiation and technical advantage.    
  
  
  • Proposal : Reviews client requested contractual acceptance criteria and formulates/approves SPX Flow’s commitments included in quotations. Evaluates client RFQ / URS identifying areas of risk or difficulty and contributing to the deviations list
  
  
  
  

Work with the team to find optimized cost solutions & best third-party partners to be competitive

  • Engineering : support sales and execution, conduct design review and act as solution architecture in his area of expertise, can act as a Lead Process Engineer or Process Engineer in his area of expertise.
  
  
  • Project Management : support sales & execution
  
  
  • Installation and Commissioning : conducts audit, supports installation, commissioning and troubleshooting,
  
  
  • Service : conducts audits and troubleshooting, ensuring that all process records are captured and stored in a suitable structured and accessible location (in line with SPX Flow procedures and practices).
  
  
  • Innovation/NPD : contributes to new process/product development, WAVE and Platform Solution projects  in cooperation with R+D/NPD functions. Encourages innovation centers tests with customers, lead co-development R&D work with key customers leading to new solutions development
  
  
  • Perform / coordinate customer process training when required.
  
  
  
  

• Ensures adherence with relevant SPXFLOW procedures, practices (e.g. IDEFs) and values

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Fluent English – both spoken and written


• Comprehensive knowledge and application of engineering principles, concepts, theories and standards of scientific/technical field. Fluent in dry and evaporation engineering processes and within the food and beverage industry.


• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills  à mettre en 2 ou 3 dans la liste


• Good understanding, knowledge and experience of contractual, commercial, and corporate processes, applications, and working principles and requirements


• High level of computer literacy including AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Project Management applications and programs


• Can identify opportunities for significant technical improvements to existing products/processes/services or cost reductions.


• Familiarity with industry regulations, standards, or compliance frameworks (if applicable).


• Good communication skills with an ability to relate to people internally or externally at all levels and disciplines.


• A high-level influencer and team player who will need to collaborate and achieve consensus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Tertiary qualified in Applicable Engineering or Technical Degree


• Project design experience is essential, preferably within the dairy or food and beverage industry – this expertise must show the incumbent has been directly accountable for a project in excess of $5m USD.


• Previous experience of managing projects and others, particularly project teams, is preferred


• Full driving license a strong advantage
