Could you be the full-time System Engineer – Remote Driving in Villeurbanne (69 - France) or St Ouen (93 - France) we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your system engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a young, multidisciplinary, and motivated team.

You'll play a key role in shaping the future of mobility by developing advanced solutions for Remote Train Driving. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (system architects, validation and verification teams, software and electronic engineers), collaborate with partners in collaborative programs, participate in the design and specification of systems, and engage in testing activities in lab and on-site.

You’ll specifically take care of conceptual design, including system models, design studies, interfaces, and prototypes, but also support the validation strategy for prototypes.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Capturing, analyzing, and formalizing customer, operational, and business needs related to Remote Driving solutions

  • Developing and maintaining system specifications, including functional and operational requirements, interfaces, and constraints (performance, availability, safety, cybersecurity, and maintainability)

  • Contributing to system architecture and design activities, such as system modeling, design studies, prototyping, and technical decision-making

  • Producing technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders

  • Supporting the validation strategy and ensuring follow-up on detected issues and necessary corrections for prototypes

  • Promoting Alstom’s Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in engineering or a master’s degree

  • Initial experience in complex system design, hardware and/or software development (experience in networks, cybersecurity, or embedded sensors is a plus)

  • Experience in system engineering, architecture, and interface management

  • Strong communication skills with multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary and international environments

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel (France and/or abroad)

  • Curiosity, rigor, team spirit, and a customer-oriented mindset

  • Comfortable with new technologies and tools

  • Fluency in both French and English

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with experts in engineering, software, and mobility in a stimulating international context

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative and impactful projects such as autonomous trains

  • Utilise our agile and collaborative working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose

  • Progress towards leadership roles or technical expertise

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
