About Safety Assessment

Charles River is committed to helping its partners accelerate the preclinical development of their drug candidates through exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities, and expert regulatory guidance. From specialized toxicology studies and Investigational New Drug (IND)-enabling programs to custom formulations and comprehensive laboratory support, our experienced team designs and executes programs that anticipate challenges and remove obstacles, ensuring a smooth and efficient path to market.
Each year, approximately 300 IND-enabling studies are conducted at our Safety Assessment sites.
