Applied AI Engineer

We're looking for a hands-on AI builder who can take a system from raw data to a shipped interface. You'll prototype and deploy AI that goes into our product, with our CTO, COO and Tech team, on projects with immediate impact.

About ScaleX Invest

ScaleX Invest is a SaaS platform for Venture Capital, Growth Equity and Private Equity investors to centralise portfolio data and make better decisions on valuation, risk and performance.

Building on Early Metrics’ decade of data and modelling expertise (since 2014), we combine a unique private-company dataset with validated methodologies to turn complex portfolio information into actionable insights for investment teams. 

Our platform offers three core solutions:

• Portfolio Monitoring: Real-time data integration, risk and liquidity scoring.
• Multi-Asset Valuation: AI-enhanced models for equity, debt, and convertibles.
• Venture Loan Scoring: Backtested risk and ESG scoring for smarter lending.

Mission: Own AI projects from data to interface

You'll be embedded with the Tech squad, not inside it: you get their codebase, their reviews and their infrastructure, but you own your projects end to end instead of picking up tickets. Sylvain (CTO) and Edouard (COO) sponsor the work directly.

1.Build the intelligence: pipelines, extraction, agents, evaluation

• Design data pipelines to collect, clean and structure public and client data
• Develop OCR/NLP workflows that turn investor reports, cap tables and financial statements into structured datasets
• Prototype and evaluate AI agents, including the boring, essential part: measuring whether they're actually accurate enough to trust on financial data

2. Ship it: interfaces, APIs, integration into the platform

• Build the interfaces, internal tools and APIs that put your models in the hands of our teams and clients
• Integrate your work into the ScaleX platform, in collaboration with the Tech squad
• Contribute to the architecture and best practices for AI integrations across the company

3. Turn ScaleX AI-native: deployment across the company, measured impact

• Find where our teams lose hours (decks, client reporting, CRM enrichment, inbound support) and build, deploy and maintain the AI tooling to fix it
• Set the baseline before you build, then track adoption and time saved

What We’re Looking For

Essentials

• Final-year or gap-year student in Computer Science, AI, Data Science or Applied Mathematics
• Strong Python, and you've shipped something people actually used
• Comfortable across the stack: you can build the model and the interface around it (TypeScript, React or equivalent)
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and APIs: prompt engineering, agents, retrieval
• Professional fluency in French and English

Bonus points

• Document parsing, OCR, unstructured data extraction
• Cloud deployment, CI/CD, or working with production databases
• Any exposure to finance, private markets or investment data

• You'd rather ship an imperfect v1 this week than a perfect v2 next month
