Learning & Development Intern

Role Overview 

As a Learning & Development Intern, you will support the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning materials and development initiatives. 

Working closely with the Learning & Development Manager, Strategic Workforce Planning Director, the Change Team, and other internal stakeholders, you’ll help create meaningful learning experiences that reflect our brand and values. 

Your work will directly contribute to enhancing employee engagement, promoting continuous learning, and strengthening Essendi’s new identity. 

Your Role 

You will be at the heart of our people team: crafting creative learning content, supporting development programs, and contributing to strategic people initiatives. 

This role blends creativity, organisation, and a passion for human development, while offering exposure to both Learning & Development and Strategic Workforce Planning. 

Main Responsibilities 

1. Elevate HR – Learning & Development  

• Support the ongoing implementation and development of Elevate HR, Essendi’s development journey for the HR Job Family, which is already launched and in progress. 
• Help coordinate and follow up on the different components of the program, working closely with participants, internal stakeholders, and external partners. 
• Create and enhance engaging learning materials, presentations, communications, and digital learning content supporting the program. 
• Support learner engagement throughout the journey and contribute to creating a strong and consistent participant experience. 
• Develop multimedia content using tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, Articulate, and SharePoint. 
• Contribute to the organisation and communication of learning activities, including workshops, webinars, mentoring initiatives, and development sessions. 
• Support the creation of practical resources such as guides, toolkits, and other learning materials. 

2. Strategic Workforce Planning Support 

• Work alongside the Strategic Workforce Planning Director and support ongoing Strategic Workforce Planning initiatives and projects. 
• Contribute to the preparation of presentations, materials, analyses, and resources supporting workforce planning discussions. 
• Support the coordination and follow-up of activities with HR teams, Job Families, and other internal stakeholders. 
• Help structure and communicate information related to workforce priorities, skills, capabilities, and future people needs. 
• Contribute to cross-functional People Development projects where Learning & Development and Strategic Workforce Planning come together. 

Your Profile 

Education: Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Learning & Development, Communication, HR, Marketing, or a creative/multimedia-related field. 

Passion for Learning: Enthusiastic about creating impactful learning experiences that help people grow. 

Creative Communicator: Strong writing, visual design, and storytelling skills with a good sense of brand coherence. 

Collaborative Mindset: Enjoys teamwork, takes initiative, and thrives in a multicultural environment. 

Organised & Curious: Comfortable working across different projects, coordinating with stakeholders, and discovering broader strategic people topics. 

Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with digital tools (Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, SharePoint). Experience with Articulate Rise or similar e-learning tools is a plus. 

Languages: Fluent in English; French is an asset.
