Maintenance Technician Apprentice

MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The apprentice will be placed under the direct responsibility of the SRPC WC Production Manager. As part of this assignment the apprentice will support the implementation of Check lists and procedure creation for all WEC equipment in WCM production shop 

Preventive Maintenance :

• Perform regular checks of machines and equipment. 
• Clean the machines and ensure they are in good working condition to prevent breakdowns. 
• Follow maintenance schedules and safety instructions. 
• Liaise with external service providers to resolve issues (maintenance recommendations, quotation preparation, on-site intervention requests, etc.). 
• Report equipment failures to the Production Manager or technician in order to keep the team informed. 

Corrective Maintenance :

• Diagnose breakdowns and malfunctions. 
• Assist in repairing equipment by following the lead technician’s instructions. 
• Replace defective or worn-out parts. 

Installation and Commissioning : 

• Assist in the installation of new equipment. 
• Participate in the commissioning of new machines or systems. 

Monitoring Tools and Materials: 

• Manage the stock of spare parts and tools needed for maintenance. 
• Check safety equipment and ensure it is in good condition. 

Report Writing: 

• Complete maintenance forms after each intervention 
• Assist in updating technical documents and maintenance plans. 

Compliance with Safety Standards: 

• Follow safety rules in force (wearing personal protective equipment, adhering to intervention guidelines, etc.). 
• Report any hazardous or non-compliant situation to supervisors. 

Continuous Monitoring and Training: 

• Acquire technical skills by following internal training and advice from experienced technicians. 
• Work under the supervision of a lead technician to improve and gain autonomy. 

Collaboration with Other Teams: 

• Work in collaboration with other technicians, production operators, and maintenance managers to improve the overall performance of the equipment.

Desired profile: Bac +2

Technical Skills: 

• Knowledge of Equipment and Systems: Understand the operation of machines, tools, and systems that need to be maintained or repaired. 
• Reading Technical Diagrams: Know how to read and interpret plans, electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals to understand systems. 
• Skills in Mechanics, Electromechanics, and/or Electronics: Have a solid foundation in mechanics for repairs, and if necessary, knowledge of electricity and electronics for more complex systems. 
• Troubleshooting Skills: Be able to diagnose technical problems and locate faults using the appropriate tools. 
• Use of Maintenance Tools: Know how to handle various tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, multimeters, etc.) and specific equipment (diagnostic machines, welders, etc.). 

Problem-Solving Skills: 

• Analytical Ability: Analyze a fault or malfunction logically to identify the exact cause of the problem. 
• Critical Thinking and Creativity: Be able to find effective solutions to complex or unforeseen problems. 

Time Management and Organizational Skills: 

• Priority Management: Know how to organize tasks to meet maintenance deadlines and minimize production interruptions. 
• Adherence to Schedules: Learn to follow a preventive maintenance schedule and complete repairs on time.
