CARGO ASSISTANT (Part-time)

The CARGO ASSISTANT is responsible for assisting the broker with preparing customs documentation, and ensuring all shipments are cleared at the air and seaports promptly. To succeed as the cargo assistant, the ideal candidate must be polite and prompt, with a commitment to providing clients and colleagues with professional service-focused interactions.

As this is a part-time role, the hours of work are typically from 3pm-7pm, making the role ideally suited for a student or someone who is looking to supplement their income with a second job.

JOB DUTIES

• Deliver a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers to ensure customer satisfaction. and positive working experiences.
• Answer questions from customers about our services. This .includes charges, account opening process and customer service policies.
• Systematically collect, sort and pack cargo in -store on a daily basis.
• Perform inventory counts as needed.
• Ensure the company's vehicle is driven safely at all times, within the stipulated laws of the country.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

• Proven customer service experience (at least years)
• Previous job experience in cargo handling or logistics preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Disciplined and highly-productive worker.
• Well -spoken with an outgoing and friendly personality.
• Customer orientation and capacity to adapt and remain professional, especially during challenging interactions with customer
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Licensed driver with ability to drive light goods vehicle up to 10 tons (at least 3 years
• Flexibility with the ability and willingness to work on weekends.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and control time effectively.
• Ability to remain active and conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long periods of time.
• Minimum of 5 CXC/CSEC passes including Math and English preferred but not mandatory.
