The product portfolio includes a wide range of microscope systems used in clinical diagnostics, medical and basic research, as well as in various industrial areas. In addition, Evident offers videoscopes, products for non-destructive testing techniques and for X-ray fluorescence analysis.
This is a contract role responsible for managing and overseeing all direct tax matters across the EMEA region. The role will act as the primary regional tax lead, ensuring compliance, accurate reporting, and effective tax risk management across multiple jurisdictions.
The position covers approximately 10–15 countries across Europe, Middle East, and Africa, including key jurisdictions such as Germany, France, Italy, and the Czech Republic. The role will work closely with local finance teams and external advisors, while providing strategic input to the Global Tax Director on global initiatives including BEPS Pillar 2 and group reporting.
Tasks
Tax Compliance & Governance
- Oversee direct tax compliance across all EMEA jurisdictions, including corporate income tax returns, filings, and payments
- Coordinate and manage external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely compliance
- Maintain and monitor the regional tax compliance calendar
- Manage tax audits, enquiries, and relationships with local tax authorities
Tax Accounting & Reporting
- Review quarterly and annual tax provisions for EMEA entities under IFRS
- Oversee deferred tax calculations and support statutory audits
- Provide forecast effective tax rate (ETR) and cash tax projections
- Support group reporting requirements, including BEPS Pillar 2 (GloBE) calculations and disclosures
Transfer Pricing
- Ensure implementation and adherence to the Group’s transfer pricing policies across EMEA
- Support in the preparation of OECD-compliant transfer pricing documentation (Master File / Local Files)
- Support intercompany pricing reviews and adjustments where required
Tax Advisory
- Act as the primary point of contact for direct tax matters across the EMEA region
- Provide advice on cross-border transactions, restructuring, and business initiatives
- Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation across EMEA and assess business impact
- Identify tax risks and opportunities to optimise the Group’s tax position
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Support regional and global tax initiatives, including reorganisations and integration projects
- Contribute to improving tax processes, controls, and documentation
- Collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to enhance tax awareness and compliance
Requirements
- Self-starter with strong ownership and ability to operate independently
- Proactive in identifying and resolving issues in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment
- Strong collaboration skills across geographically dispersed teams
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Professional tax qualification (e.g. CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) preferred
- 8–10 years of relevant corporate tax experience
- Proven experience managing multi-country tax operations across EMEA
- Experience in a multinational environment (industry or Big 4)
- Exposure to manufacturing and/or distribution businesses is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax, international tax, and transfer pricing (OECD framework)
- Solid understanding of IFRS tax accounting principles
- Experience managing external advisors and operating within a co-sourced model
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across functions and regions
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
- High level of attention to detail and analytical capability
- Fluency in English required; additional European languages are an advantage
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) is a plus
