The mission of AIX Competence Center is to deliver reliable and efficient hosting services on AIX platform within the GOSP data centers in Aachen (Germany) and Mogliano (Italy), in an agile, standardized and effective way, to meet international customer needs and SLAs, while minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

For this we are looking for you. As an AIX specialist / system administrator you are responsible for all AIX service operation activities to deliver a stabile service to our customers in Germany, France, Italy and Hungary.

Your main tasks:

  • You are responsible to solve incident tickets, to fulfil standardized customer requests and to manage change requests on a proper way
  • With problem management process, you will ensure the sustainable elimination of identified root causes and avoid future incidents
  • You plan and implement automatisms for the service operation of the Config and Systems Management systems
  • You define requirements for automated provisioning of attached storage subsystems
  • You will proactively update and further optimize the HW / SW environment around the AIX core systems as well as the other system related components
  • In line with our customer requirements and the holistic IT infrastructure architecture, you ensure a state-of-the-art AIX environment
  • You will ensure a standardized and economically optimized HW / SW offering
  • You are part of the service cluster and take over regular on-call duties
  • You will ensure that security requirements are implemented in accordance with the higher-level guidelines / architectures
  • In close cooperation with the corresponding areas in the other GOSP Branches, you will pursue overarching standardizations to exploit synergies

Profile

  • You have successfully completed an IT degree course and / or have long-term work experience
  • You have several years of experience in other Enterprise IT infrastructure systems, preferably in the Open Systems environment and Unix platform
  • You have got very good knowledge of AIX and Linux operations and related HW / SW
  • You display a convincing confidence as well as strong communication and presentation skills
  • You have a high level of engagement and are resistant to stress
  • You have a deep understanding of services and are extremely customer-oriented
  • You are solution-oriented and are characterized by willingness to cooperate, capacity for teamwork and conflict ability
  • You have knowledge of IT-Service-Management-frameworks (for e.g. ITIL)
  • You think and act like an entrepreneur
  • You have high skills in spoken and written German and English (at least B2)
